Today in Habs History: September 23rd Edition


1947: The Canadiens trade Paul Bibeault to the Chicago Black Hawks for George Allen.  Both teams held a right to recall their players and did so in June of 1947.

1951: In a cash deal, the Canadiens acquire John McCormack from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

1991: Scotty Bowman is inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
