Today In Habs History: May 3rd Edition

 

 

1973: Henri Richard set an NHL Stanley Cup record for most career playoff games, as the Canadiens lost 7-4 to the Chicago Black Hawks in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Richard broke the record of 164 held by Red Kelly.

1989: Patrick Roy recorded his second career playoff shutout as the Canadiens won 3-0 over the Philadelphia Flyers, in Game 2 of the Wales Conference Finals.

 

1995: The Canadiens miss the playoffs for the first time in 25 years following a strike shortened 48-game season.
