Today in Habs History: April 20th Edition

1958: Bernie Geoffrion scored twice and added an assist as the Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins 5-3 in Game 6 of the Finals.

It was the tenth Cup in franchise history and the Canadiens third straight, equalling the NHL record set by Toronto from 1946-47 through 1948-49.

1965: Jean Beliveau scored a goal and added an assist, to give him 100 career points in 93 Stanley Cup Playoff games, as the Canadiens beat the Chicago Black Hawks 2-0, in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

1967: Henri Richard scored his first playoff hat trick and added an assist to lead the Canadiens to a 6-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

1968:  Jean Beliveau scored three goals as the Canadiens beat Chicago 4-1, in Game Two of the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals in Montreal. It was the only hat trick of Beliveau's playoff career.

1971: Jacques Lemaire scored a hat trick in the second period, and J.C. Tremblay picked up four assists as the Canadiens won 7-2 over the Minnesota North Stars, in Game 1 of the Semi-Finals.

1984: The Canadiens and Quebec Nordiques face off in Game Six of the Adams Division Final in what became known as The Good Friday Massacre.
