1934: Aurel Joliat is honoured by the Canadiens for playing in his 500th career NHL game. The Canadiens lost 3-2 to the Montreal Maroons.

1976: Ken Dryden records his 26th career shutout in the Canadiens 3-0 win over the New York Rangers.

1979: Guy Lafleur and Bob Gainey each score a goal in Team NHL’s 4-2 victory, over the Soviet National Team, in Game One of the Challenge Cup Series.

2000: Trevor Linden scores a hat trick, but the Canadiens fall 5-4 in overtime to the Edmonton Oilers.
